Prior to establishing Repowise, Andy worked in the secured financing market for over three decades, and has served as a Desk Head, Senior Trader, Salesperson, Business Manager, Operations Specialist, and Relationship Manager.

Working in Operations with Chase Manhattan Bank, a Repo Trader at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, to Head of Credit Repo at West Deutsche Landesbank, Barclays Capital, Head of Client Financing at Morgan Stanley & Co International London & EMEA, and more recently Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.

Key clients included investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, brokers, central banks, system vendors, central securities depositories (CSD’s), and central clearing houses (CCP’s).

Andy is a highly experienced, driven, and collaborative desk-head with extensive trading, client relationship management, project management and sales experience. 

He has established a triparty product into an investment bank, onboarding several trading systems into a start-up business with no previous infrastructure and developing profitable financing trading desks for these new entrants in the markets.

Integrating triparty and securities lending vendors, collateral management, centrally cleared counterparty, fixed income trading and settlement venues. This resulted in cheaper cash liquidity and optimized collateral, whilst reducing counterparty credit and operational risk. Andy has multidecade experience in trading, settling, and integrating secured financing transaction (SFT) products into major financial institutions.

Previously elected by peers to represent the market on the European Repo & Collateral Committee (ERCC-ICMA) and currently serving on the ERCC Best Practices Committee to provide expert input and advice on SFT matters, such as market trends, regulatory impact, best practice and provide examples of outcomes and experiences.

Skills include trading, triparty, CCP and product implementation for start-ups, hedging, collateral management, leadership & education, stakeholder & relationship management, and effective negotiation. Also adept at educating and training colleagues in various secured finance products.
